Medicel Explorer is a powerful tool for optimization of bioprocess parameters and strain screening. The Cultivation Unit provides 15 parallel small-scale bioreactors, which makes it an ideal platform for Design of Experiment (DoE) –type experimentation and scaling up of a manufacturing process. We performed 15 parallel batch cultivations under identical conditions in order to examine how the same yeast strain behaves in the conditions maintained by the Cultivation Unit.
