Trace Element Finished-Good Testing For Cell Culture Media

Using trace element testing to better meet bioprocess media requirements

Critical raw materials are those commonly used in many formulations or used in high volume. All are chemically defined bioproduction raw materials. These include salts, amino acids, vitamins and other components.

Unexpected sources of key driver trace elements have been identified in all classes of raw materials, most frequently in salts. Natural and expected variances (even as small as 1 ppb) in cell culture media profiles for incoming raw materials may impact the trace element profile of finished goods. This can negatively impact performance or product quality for some cell lines/processes.

Trace Element Profile Testing offered by Gibco is a new offering for customers seeking proactive access to trace element profile data upon receipt of material.
