Swiss World Cargo: Collaborating To Make A Difference

Source: Envirotainer

Active Container damage is a very sensitive topic within Swiss WorldCargo. Until the beginning of 2013, the damage ratio (damaged units in % of total volume) steadily increased over the years. These damages did not affect the quality of the container performance, as the damage usually occurred outside of the container. The costs however were rising to an unacceptable level.

That is why Swiss WorldCargo initiated a Kaizen (Process Improvement) Workshop in order to determine where, when and why these damages happen and to implement corrective actions to prevent them in the future. The workshop took place in Chicago, where 13 participants joined from all over the world. Besides Swiss World Cargo, members from Envirotainer and Lufthansa Cargo also participated.
