Outsourced Pharma For Drug Sponsors And Contract Development And Manufacturing Professionals Completes 2017 Program

Adds Philadelphia to Boston, San Diego, and San Francisco locations for 2018

Erie, PA - Outsourced Pharma completed its fourth year of thought leadership conferences and exhibitions with its final event held in San Francisco on October 17–18, 2017, titled: Transference In Drug Development and Manufacturing Outsourcing. At that event, Chief Editor and Conference Chair Louis Garguilo, announced that a fourth venue, Philadelphia, will be added to the 2018 line up of Outsourced Pharma events.

All three of the 2017 events provided a forum for open discussion and offered opportunities for attendees to learn about specific aspects of biotechnology and pharmaceutical outsourcing, interact with a cross-section of industry members, and generate new business opportunities. 2017 conferences resulted in the highest industry attendance in the event’s history, and included sold-out exhibition sponsorships as well.

Outsourced Pharma San Francisco

“We wrapped up 2017 in San Francisco, with what can only be described as the highest feeling of community, shared learning, and thought leadership we’ve ever experienced at an Outsourced Pharma conference. Also, including Boston and San Diego, it is rewarding to see everyone associated with Outsourced Pharma embrace our format and actively participate to bring better outcomes to drug development and manufacturing in an outsourced mode,” said Garguilo.

The San Francisco event included executives from companies such as Achaogen, Boehringer Ingelheim, Dermira, Gilead, Juno Therapeutics, Nuredis, Portola Pharmaceuticals, Versartis, and more.

“I really like the format of the conference and the interaction between panel and audience” said Gerd Kochendoerfer, VP, technical operations and program management, Pelle Pharm.

In addition to gathering experienced industry professionals for the conference sessions, the Outsourced Pharma Conference and Exhibition hosted 50 exhibitors and sponsors, providing industry attendees solutions to their outsourcing needs.

“I valued the ample networking opportunities at Outsourced Pharma San Francisco,” says Lesley Drohan, organizational excellence manager, Cytovance Biologics. “What differentiates Outsourced Pharma from other events is that vendors are encouraged to attend the talks, as opposed to other shows where that is difficult or impossible.”

Outsourced Pharma 2018 Preview

Outsourced Pharma is expanding in 2018 by adding Philadelphia to the event locations of Boston, San Diego, and San Francisco.

“We are committed to building Outsourced Pharma communities in the biopharma clusters of Boston, San Diego, and San Francisco,” says Life Science Leader CEO Jon Howland. “In speaking with readers from Life Science Leader magazine and OutsourcedPharma.com, it became clear that there is a demand and need for Outsourced Pharma communities in other cities. Philadelphia is an area that our readers would like us to help build such a community. We are excited to connect with our Philadelphia area readers in person to discuss the challenges they face as they manage their manufacturing and development outsourcing relationships. We are thrilled to expand the Outsourced Pharma community in 2018 and look to serve other regions in the future.”

All Outsourced Pharma conferences provide opportunities for attendees to learn about specific aspects of biotechnology and pharmaceutical outsourcing, interact with a cross-section of industry members, and generate new business opportunities.

“Over the past four years we’ve continued to improve upon our model of open discussion and debate to uncover challenges facing drug sponsors and owners, and the contract development and manufacturing organizations. We look forward to building on this platform in 2018, including in Philadelphia. We invite professionals in the industry involved with outsourcing or an external supply chain to join us,” says Garguilo.
