Article: Developments In Laboratory-Scale Lyophilization For Purification Laboratories

Source: Genevac Ltd.
For many years, lyophilization, or freeze drying, has been used to dry samples in the laboratory. The technique is well documented and has become the method of choice for many researchers with few samples to dry. Lyophilization is often selected because it achieves a high level of dryness with low residual solvent levels, and because of the light, powdery, "fluffy" finish of the sample, which enables it to be easily removed and weighed out.
