We welcome you to GTCbio's Inaugural Enzymes in Drug Discovery Conference, which will be held on February 25 - 27, 2015 in San Diego, CA. Enzymes are a therapeutically important group of drug targets for diseases including cancer, infectious and cardiovascular diseases. What's new? Enzyme inhibitors have been some of the most successful of all drugs out there across multiple therapeutic areas from cancer to antibiotics. But going forward, drug resistance to these inhibitors and trying to target enzymes which have been historically difficult to drug is a new frontier. This conference will bring together speakers representing world leading academic centers and pharmaceutical companies to discuss how enzymology can increase the predictability of biochemical assays and analytical concepts that translate data into mechanistic understanding of the interaction of drug molecules with their targets, as well as trying to understand these new targets and new ways of overcoming acquired resistance. Draft Session Topics: I. Enzyme Structures, Mechanisms & Design II. Enzymes in Epigenetics as Drug Targets III. Focusing on Difficult Target Enzymes IV. Acquired Drug resistance: Re-designing Enzyme Inhibitors V. New Chemical Approaches to Target Enzymes Best regards, The 2015 Organizing Committee
