TRAIL, aslo called Apo2L, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor family (TNF). The product and its receptors DR4 and DR5 are widely expressed in many human tissues.
The product activates rapid apoptosis in many transformed cell lines but not in normal tissues. TRAIL and its receptors are expressed on both cell types.
Biomol offers the product expressed in E. coli. This 23kDa recombinant protein comprises residues 114-281 of the soluble domain of human TRAIL. It has been used to induce apoptosis in U937 cells at µg/ml. Purity > 95% by SDS-PAGE.
