The OriGene Protein Collection is provided to our customers to further address their needs for a complete experimental solution encompassing cDNAs for overexpression, shRNA for underexpression, antibodies for detection and now proteins for functional evaluation. The OriGene Protein Collection is provided by experts in this complex field.

Functionally active proteins can be overexpressed in and purified from several different systems that have been well characterized. OriGene's manufacturer primarily utilizes bacterial and baculoviral systems and has produced over 100 transcription and cancer related proteins.

OriGene, through its partnership with ProteinOne, is actively preparing functional proteins every day for our catalog and to address our customer's bulk protein needs.

APPLICATION
Enzymatic Assays: Protein enzymes can be used to catalyze reactions of interest in search of substrate specificity. The researcher can also use such assays to assess both activation and inhibition of the enzymes activity. OriGene provides many quality protein kinases to test their phosphorylation activity.

Protein Binding Studies: Having a properly folded protein is key to determine its biologically relevant interactions. This type of study is traditionally performed through gel-shift assays, ELISA plate analysis, and various types of affinity chromatography.

Western Blots and SDS-PAGE: The identification of a proteins rate of migration (Mr) through SDS-PAGE is best identified through the use of a purified protein. The proteins available through OriGene are suitable for this purpose.

Functional Studies: In addition to enzymatic or binding assays, the researcher can uncover the cellular function of these proteins through a variety of specialized assays measuring fluctuations in second messengers calcium or camp. Transcriptional regulation can be assessed through off-the-shelf reporter gene assays.
