The work described here demonstrates an economical and efficient nonaffinity capture and polishing step for AAV8. To further purify the AAV8 the use of Nuvia HP-Q resin was introduced as a polishing step. The resin was able to effectively remove impurities such as host cell proteins and DNA.

Overall, this study suggests that the use of this anion exchange resin could potentially reduce the cost and complexity of large-scale AAV purification processes. The findings of this study contribute to the development of improved purification methods for AAVs, enhancing the efficacy and safety of gene therapy treatments.
