A Multiprotein Expression Strategy & Analysis

Detailed molecular analysis of multiprotein complexes is an emerging focus in the biological sciences. There is a growing demand for novel techniques enabling expression of multiprotein complexes. Laboratory automation technology could facilitate parallel multicomplex protein expression and characterisation studies.

The MultiBac baculoviral expression system provides a multiprotein expression strategy with the potential for engineering each component at the DNA level, followed by expression and analysis of the desired protein complex.

This poster highlights initial work carried out to assess the advanced microscale bioreactor (ambr™) as a new tool for high throughput screening of insect cells lines and viruses for miniature scale (10-15mL) protein expression with the MultiBac expression system.
