Medicel Plugflow Unit facilitates the perturbation of a cell culture outside the bioreactor. Mixing a sample stream from cultivation with an external liquid stream initiates a reaction in the cells. Reaction times from four seconds to several minutes are possible by a continuous flow through the silicone tubing in the Plugflow Unit

Short reactions without disturbing the actual cultivation
Medicel Plugflow Unit facilitates the perturbation of a cell culture outside the bioreactor. Mixing a sample stream from cultivation with an external liquid stream initiates a reaction in the cells. Reaction times from four seconds to several minutes are possible by a continuous flow through the silicone tubing in the Plugflow Unit. The reaction is inhibited by pumping the mixture into the cold bath of the Sampling Unit.
