06.04.14 -- Essentialis' DCCR For Prader-Willi Syndrome Granted Orphan Drug Status
Cargo theft is nothing new. Since goods have been shipped there have been those ready to take advantage. The theft of pharmaceutical supplies affects the industry in ways beyond the bottom line with patient safety threatened by counterfeit and badly handled supplies. In this joint presentation World Courier's Sue Lee and Jason Breakwell Director of TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) will discuss the problem, and how it affects the supply chain and ultimately the patient. Application Note: Kinase Assay Using A 3D Tumoroid- Based Cell Model By Brad Larson, Peter Banks, Nicolas Pierre, and Grant Cameron, BioTek Instruments, Inc.
Three-dimensional (3D) cell culture is poised to meet the need for a more in vivo-like cellular model with which to test large and small molecules. This is accomplished by providing a method that allows for the reorganization of cells into a format that re-establishes the necessary cellular architecture and communication networks seen in normal tissue. Recently a methodology has been put forth that incorporates a simplified procedure for the creation of a cell and collagen hydrogel mix. The inclusion of appropriate liquid handling instrumentation can further simplify the process and ensure the generation of accurate, robust results.
Application Note: Using Flash Chromatography With ELSD And UV Detection For Rapid Purification Of Peptides By Jeff Horsman, Kathryn Lawrence, Bopanna N.K., Chitra Sundararajan, Melissa Wilcox, Grace, Janos Varga, Fabio Simi, Mitzi Pezes, California Peptide Research
Flash chromatography is a fast and cost-efficient approach to purify synthetic peptides and other small molecules. Using flash chromatography can quickly increase overall purity of peptides prior to the next amino acid addition or final polishing on preparative HPLC.
White Paper: Accelerate Growth Medium Optimization By Irvine Scientific
Formulation development and optimization can be successfully achieved through a variety of approaches. The diversity of the media panel in Irvine Scientific’s CHO Media Development Kit allows you to create a formulation development strategy that fits with your project timeline, resources, and goals. All the media provided in this kit have been fully engineered to be made at full GMP scale. With the media being GMP ready, the kit can help shorten the development time to an EMS or GMP product.
Sartoguard GF filter elements consist of glass fiber layers and Polyethersulfone membranes. They combine the defined retention performance for particles and microorganisms of membrane filters with the high total throughput capacity in the depth of the fibrous material.
AseptiQuik STC Connectors integrate the AseptiQuik sterile connector and the Steam-Thru II SIP connector, giving manufacturers even greater flexibility for hybrid stainless steel and single-use processing.
Modern bioreactor aeration concepts increasingly use oxygen-enriched air or pure oxygen gas to improve cell culture productivity. As with air, these alternate oxygen-source gas feeds must be filter-sterilized to prevent spoilage of bioreactors by contaminant organisms coming from the incoming and outgoing gas streams. Membrane filters are used to sterilize these gases, and they must also be integrity testable to assure process security and meet GMP requirements.
In this webinar you will learn about the Emphaze AEX Hybrid Purifier — a multimechanism clarification device that embodies the philosophy of innovation necessary to transform and redefine the mAb purification process.
