Enhanced T Cell Expansion And High Viability While Maintaining Early Memory Cell Phenotype

The study discusses the development and performance of the Gibco™ CTS™ OpTmizer™ One Serum-Free Medium (SFM), an animal origin-free (AOF) T cell culture medium designed for T cell expansion. The medium supports robust T cell expansion and maintains high T cell viability, which is crucial for T cell therapeutics. The study compared the performance of the CTS OpTmizer One SFM with other AOF or xeno-free basal offerings, evaluating activated T cell expansion, cell viability, early memory T cell phenotypes, and CD4:CD8 ratios. The CTS OpTmizer One SFM showed comparable or higher total cell counts, greater consistency across different donors, and higher expression of early memory cell phenotype markers. The study also tested the medium with cells from healthy and diseased donors (AML and CLL), where it supported high cell expansion and viability.
