The Panorama E. coli Gene Arrays are expression arrays containing DNA representative of the entire E. coli genome (strain K-12 {MG1655}). Each array has a 4290 PCR-amplified open reading frames (ORFs) representing all E. coli protein-coding genes. These arrays provide a way of comparing the quantifiable expression levels of all 4,290 genes in a single hybridization experiment.

Features:

  • each spot contains an entire E. coli ORF—from start to stop codon
  • ten nanograms of each amplified ORF have been arrayed in duplicate on nylon hybridization membranes
  • the spots have been arrayed at a 2 mm spacing (center to center) and the entire genome is represented in a 22 x 11 cm membrane
  • cDNA labeling primers optimized for use with E. coli are available
