Application Note: 15 Parallel Batch Cultivations Of Yeast Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Performed With Medicel Explorer Cultivation Unit

Medicel Explorer is a powerful tool for optimization of bioprocess parameters and strain screening. The Cultivation Unit provides 15 parallel small-scale bioreactors, which makes it an ideal platform for Design of Experiment (DoE) –type experimentation and scaling up of a manufacturing process. We performed 15 parallel batch cultivations under identical conditions in order to examine how the same yeast strain behaves in the conditions maintained by the Cultivation Unit. This kind of information in vital when preparing for more complex DoE project.
